Marketplace Listings

One product, four different listings.

Amazon wants bullets and A+ content. eBay wants item specifics. Etsy wants tags and story. Google Shopping wants GTIN and concise titles. Each platform ranks differently — we listing-optimise for each, from a single source.

Each marketplace ranks differently

Knowing how each algorithm works is the job.

Amazon
Ranks by
Conversion rate · CTR · Keyword relevance in title/bullets/backend
What wins
Long title packed with keywords · 5 bullets each front-loaded · A+ content · 6+ images with alt text · Strong review count
What to avoid
Keyword-stuffed titles · Duplicate backend terms · Promotional text (FREE, SALE) · Subjective claims (best, cheapest)
eBay
Ranks by
Item specifics completeness · Best Match algorithm · Price · Seller feedback score
What wins
Exhaustive item specifics (25+ per listing) · Short punchy title · Category correctly chosen · Buy It Now pricing competitive
What to avoid
Sparse item specifics · ALL CAPS titles · Store category mismatches · Seller performance below standard
Etsy
Ranks by
Tag relevance · Listing recency · Quality score · Conversion rate
What wins
13 tags used (all of them) · Story-style title · Multi-word long-tail tags · High-quality lifestyle photography · Active shop updates
What to avoid
Single-word tags · Drop-shipped look · Generic stock photography · Shop inactivity · Policy-violating listings (regulated goods)
Google Shopping
Ranks by
Feed quality · Bid × quality score · Landing page match · Site engagement signals
What wins
GTIN provided · All attributes populated · Fresh data · Accurate shipping configuration · Structured data matching feed
What to avoid
Missing GTIN without exception · Price mismatch with landing page · Low-quality images · Misleading titles · Policy violations
How we create listings at scale

One master listing. Four optimised outputs.

Master listing lives in your PIM/data source with all attributes. Platform-specific templates transform it into the right shape for each channel. Edit once, update everywhere.

01
Master brief
Every product attribute documented, photographed, described once in the master record.
02
Per-channel templates
Title formulas, bullet patterns, tag rules, item-specific mapping templates per marketplace.
03
Auto-generate drafts
Master data runs through templates producing draft listings for each marketplace.
04
Human polish
Category specialists review each draft, hand-tune the highest-impact fields before publishing.
Typical monthly work

What a listings retainer covers.

New product listings
Create-to-live across all active marketplaces. Includes copy, image briefs, attribute mapping, category assignment.
Listing refresh (quarterly)
Revisit existing listings — update copy, add new images, refresh keywords based on search term reports.
Seasonal updates
Gift messaging, holiday imagery, bundle creation, promotional pricing configuration, seasonal tag updates.
A+ content / Enhanced Brand Content
For Amazon Brand Registry sellers. Visual storytelling modules, comparison charts, brand story sections.
Category-specific enhancements
Clothing size charts, furniture dimension diagrams, electronic spec tables. Category-level work.
Localisation
Per-marketplace translation for UK → DE/FR/IT/ES/NL. Human translation for core SKUs, reviewed MT for long-tail.
Don't spread thin

2–3 marketplaces, done well.

Being on 10 marketplaces with sloppy listings earns less than being on 2 with excellent ones. For most Irish SMBs we recommend the Amazon + Google Shopping core, plus one lifestyle-match marketplace.

Frequently asked

Marketplace listing questions.

Comfortably 3–4 in a single retainer, more in larger engagements. The limit isn't technical — it's creative bandwidth. Each marketplace needs genuine platform-specific thinking or listings get formulaic and stop ranking.
We brief and direct but don't shoot in-house. For most clients we arrange studio sessions with photographers we've worked with before, or coach your existing photographer on platform-specific shot lists (Amazon hero image rules, Etsy lifestyle emphasis, etc.).
Then you're leaving visibility on the table. Amazon's algorithm wants different signals than eBay's. A copy-paste listing strategy ranks in the middle of every platform rather than the top of any. We build per-platform, always.
Yes — Shopify's admin is a reasonable master source. We export products, enrich for marketplace requirements, and push to each marketplace with channel-specific transformations. Or we integrate Shopify → PIM → marketplaces for scale.
