When Webflow earns the bet

Design-led brands, mid-sized content volume.

Design-forward brands
Agencies, studios, architecture firms, premium consumer brands — where the site must feel handcrafted, not templated.
Content volume 20–500 items
Webflow's CMS handles blog posts, case studies, team bios, events. Below 20 items a static page works; above 500, you outgrow Webflow's Collection limits.
Non-technical editors
Editor mode lets marketing teams update content, swap images, publish — without touching the Designer. Much gentler than WordPress admin.
Launch urgency
2-4× faster to production than bespoke builds. Hosting, SSL, CDN, staging are built in — nothing to wire up separately.
Zero plugin anxiety
No 27 plugins to keep updated. No compatibility conflicts. No WordPress-style 3am panic when one plugin breaks another.
Responsive done right
Breakpoint-based design with preview at every size built into the Designer. No "it works on my desktop" moments.
The CMS bit that actually matters

Webflow Collections — field types, templating, references.

A Collection is a content type (Blog Post, Team Member, Case Study). Each Collection has fields. Pages can template from a Collection, filter it, paginate it, reference other Collections. Get this mental model right and Webflow CMS is genuinely capable.

Plain text / Rich text
Titles, body copy, WYSIWYG editor content. Rich text supports embedded images, links, lists, headings.
Image / Image gallery
Hero images, thumbnails, product galleries. Responsive srcsets auto-generated — no manual image resizing.
Reference / Multi-reference
Blog post author → Team Member. Case study industries → Industry Collection. Joins you'd normally need SQL for.
Option field
Enum-style dropdowns for status, category. Editors pick from a defined list — no free-text typos creeping in.
Date / Date range
Published date, event date, validity window. Auto-sorts your Collection list, filters by upcoming/past.
File / Link / Email / Phone
PDF downloads, external links, contact methods. Properly typed fields = proper validation at the input form.
Collection limits: Basic site 0 collections · CMS site 20 collections, 2,000 items · Business site 40 collections, 10,000 items. Choose the tier that matches 18 months' growth, not today's count.
Built-in animation layer

Webflow's interactions — Framer Motion without the code.

Scroll-linked parallax, hover states, page transitions, timeline sequences. Nothing stops you adding Lottie or GSAP when you outgrow the visual system — but for 90% of brochure-site animation needs, the built-in tools are enough.

Scroll-triggered reveals
Cards fade-and-rise as they enter viewport
Scroll-linked parallax
Hero image scales/translates tied to scroll depth
Hover interactions
Card lifts, shadows deepen, accent colour shifts
Click sequences
Accordions, tabs, modal transitions
Page load timelines
Sequential reveal of navbar → headline → CTA → imagery
Mouse-following effects
Subtle cursor-tracking glow on hero elements
What we won't pretend

Webflow isn't right for everything.

Large multi-author blogs (1000+ posts)
Collection limits + workflow depth aren't there. Use WordPress or Sanity + Next.js.
Complex ecommerce
Webflow Ecommerce works for small catalogues. Shopify is better for anything serious — and Shopify integrates with Webflow front-ends if you want hybrid.
User-generated content / community
No built-in user accounts, comments, forums. Memberstack can bolt-on but at that complexity, consider a framework build.
Multi-language at scale
Webflow Localization exists but has rough edges beyond 2-3 languages. For 5+ locales, consider Weglot or a proper headless CMS.
Highly-custom logic / calculators
Finance calculators, configurators, booking systems with complex rules. Custom-code embeds can patch this but it's not where Webflow shines.
You'll have zero dev support forever
Editor mode is gentle, but some tasks (new content model, new breakpoint, tracking change) still need someone who knows the Designer.

Frequently asked

Webflow questions.

Webflow hosting: €18–€42/month for CMS/Business tiers. Build cost depends on scope — typical brochure site with CMS is €6k–€18k. Complex design or e-commerce scales from there. We quote per project.
Yes — that's a core reason to pick Webflow. Editor mode is a simplified view where content teams can update copy, swap images, publish new CMS items. We train your team in the handoff session.
Yes. Clean HTML output, server-rendered pages, fast CDN hosting, proper meta controls, schema markup, sitemap auto-generation. Webflow's SEO fundamentals are strong — content strategy matters more than platform choice here.
Yes, but not trivially. You can export static HTML/CSS/JS (frontend only, loses CMS/forms/hosting). For a proper migration you'd rebuild the CMS elsewhere — we scope this realistically if it ever becomes relevant.
Yes — we build a style guide page in Webflow itself (colours, type, spacing tokens, components) mirroring your brand system. Changes to the style guide cascade across the whole site.

Share your current site (or brand guidelines if greenfield) and we'll return a 10-minute video walkthrough showing how it would translate to Webflow and a rough scope estimate. Free, no commitment.
