Where analytics goes wrong

Four analytics mistakes every audit turns up.

Most Irish SMB analytics setups have at least two of these. Often the data is lying and nobody knows — which is worse than no data at all.

Dashboards nobody reads

You've got GA4 installed. You've never logged in. Nobody can interpret what's there. Data exists; insight doesn't.

Conversions aren't tracked properly

Post-iOS 14.5 pixel issues. Goals set up wrong 3 years ago. Your reports are wrong and nobody's told you.

No attribution across channels

Someone clicks Facebook, comes back via Google, buys after an email. Who gets credit? Most setups can't tell you.

GDPR / cookie consent confusion

Cookie banner blocks tracking. Consent flows broken. You're half-compliant, half-measuring, fully exposed.

Three layers we get right

Setup, planning, compliance — in that order.

Most agencies jump straight to setup and skip planning. That's why most analytics dashboards track the wrong things. We do it properly, in sequence.

Setup & tagging

The foundation, done right

GA4 + Google Tag Manager
Enhanced e-commerce events
Cross-domain tracking where needed
Server-side tagging (where it matters)
Conversions API for Meta/TikTok
Measurement planning

What actually matters

KPI & event mapping workshop
Conversion goal definition
Custom events for your business
User journey mapping
Attribution model selection
GDPR & consent

Compliant and still useful

Cookie consent mode
Consent-aware tagging
Irish / EU data residency
PII filtering & redaction
Documented data handling
What you get back

Analytics that actually informs decisions.

Four outcomes Irish SMBs get from properly-built tracking. No vanity metrics; real numbers you can run the business from.

Accurate conversion data

Post-iOS 14.5 measurement recovered with server-side tracking and Conversions API. You see what ads really earn.

Attribution you can act on

Know which channel drives first touch, which closes, which email pushes users over. No more credit fights in meetings.

GDPR-safe measurement

Consent-aware tagging. Cookie mode v2. Documented data handling. Compliant AND useful — not one or the other.

Reports humans read

Plain-English monthly summaries, not dashboard dumps. The TL;DR goes first; the detail's there if you want it.

Is it a fit?

Analytics only earns when decisions change.

Fancy dashboards aren't the point. Making better, faster, data-informed decisions is. If you won't act on what the data shows, save your money.

Right fit
We should talk if…
You've been guessing for too long — you want real numbers
You're running paid ads and need accurate conversion tracking
Your team makes decisions from data — but the data's wrong
You need GDPR-compliant tracking without gutting your measurement
You want reports that go to humans, not dashboard purgatory
Not a fit
We'll point you elsewhere if…
You have zero traffic — analytics won't help until you get some
You want someone to 'just make the numbers look better' — not us
You can't implement changes based on what the data shows
You want surveillance-grade tracking with no GDPR concern
Tech we build with

Across the whole tracking stack — including GDPR-friendly alternatives where they fit.

Google Analytics 4

What we typically measure

Common analytics scenarios.

The tracking and measurement work Irish SMBs most often need fixed or built properly.

E-commerce analytics
Lead-gen conversion tracking
Content site analytics
Multi-domain tracking
Post-iOS 14.5 recovery
GDPR compliance audits
Attribution model setup
Custom event & KPI tracking
Common questions

Analytics questions, honestly answered.

The questions Irish SMBs ask us most often.

Universal Analytics stopped collecting data in July 2023 — it's gone. GA4 is the only Google Analytics now, and it's genuinely different: event-based (not session-based), different metrics, different reports, different way of thinking. Most sites we audit still have broken GA4 setups because the migration was done hastily. We either fix the existing one or rebuild it properly.
Accuracy took a real hit for Meta/TikTok/LinkedIn ads. Best defences: server-side tagging, Meta Conversions API, hashed first-party data, modelled attribution. None of these restore 100% accuracy — that's gone. But proper implementation typically recovers 60-80% of previously visible conversions. We're honest about what's possible.
Both, but we separate them deliberately. Tracking setup is foundational — must be right before dashboards can be trusted. Dashboards are downstream — built on top once data is solid. See our Dashboard Reporting service for the visualisation layer. Some clients want both together; others start with tracking and bring dashboards in later.
Google Consent Mode v2, Cookiebot or Didomi (or the consent tool your site uses), consent-aware tagging that respects user choice. For Irish/EU traffic, tracking fires differently based on consent state. We set this up properly so you're compliant AND still measuring — not one or the other.
Yes. Cross-domain tracking is one of the most commonly misconfigured parts of GA4. We set it up properly so a user going shop.yourbiz.ie → checkout.yourbiz.ie shows as one session, not two. Similar for subdomains, language variants, and any external payment pages that come back.
Basic GA4 + GTM + conversions: 1-2 weeks. Enhanced e-commerce + server-side + consent mode: 3-4 weeks. Multi-domain, attribution modelling, custom event schema: 4-8 weeks. We scope based on your actual stack, not a template. You'll know timeline and cost before any work begins.
